2021 DCWC Scholarship Awards Recipients

The Dayton Catholic Women’s Club (DCWC) is pleased to announce the recipients of their DCWC 2021 Scholarship Awards, presented to ten local female Catholic high school graduating seniors, for use in their freshman year of college. The Scholarship winners were selected from among numerous applicants, giving consideration to academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, leadership, personal essays, financial need, and demonstrated Catholic faith.

In keeping with the DCWC Motto “To look for the best in others; to give the best we have.”, DCWC provides financial support in the form of $1000 Scholarships to Catholic graduating high school female students who will be continuing their education at colleges and universities during the coming school year. DCWC was able to contribute funds totaling $10,000.

The ten young ladies who were selected as DCWC Scholarship Awards recipients are:

  • Lydia Alexander, from Incarnation Parish and Archbishop Alter High School.
  • Cassandra M. Eckert, from St. Henry Parish and Archbishop Alter High School.
  • Haley Hinkel, from St. Mary of the Assumption Parish and Ursuline Academy of Cincinnati.
  • Mikayla Jette, from St. Christopher Parish and Chaminade Julienne High School.
  • Geroan Njumashua, from St. Benedict the Moor Parish and Chaminade Julienne High School.
  • Margaret Ollier, from Ascension Parish and Carroll High School.
  • Maura A. Piroch, from Holy Family Parish and Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Home School.
  • Isabelle Rammel, from St. Mary Parish, Greenville and Greenville High School
  • Kathryn Schinaman, from St. Christopher Parish and Chaminade Julienne High School.
  • Lillian Smith, from Incarnation Parish and Centerville High School.

In 2011, with the help of a legacy gift in remembrance of one of our past members, DCWC established the scholarship fund which allows the award of a minimum of four scholarships to female high school students who are continuing their education after graduation. Applicants must be graduating from high school and an active member of a Dayton area Roman Catholic Church.

Each year, the Dayton Catholic Women’s Club (DCWC) awards Charity Grants to worthy 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organizations throughout the Miami Valley area.

All Grant Applications are reviewed by the Grants Committee and approved by the DCWC Board Members. Grant Applications considered are focused on addressing worthy community needs within the Miami Valley area.
